Are you tired of being short? If this sums up how you feel, there are many things you can consider to fix the problem. However, you should completely avoid any option that claim you can become taller using exercises that will stretch and lengthen your bones after you’ve finished puberty. This is completely impossible to do, and any product or program that claims to be able to do this is dishonest and attempting to waste your time and money.
Why are these methods impossible? Well first you should understand how bones grow to begin with. When we are first born, our bones are made mostly of a flexible material called cartilage. As we get older, the cartilage begins to solidify to form solid bone. When we are teenagers in puberty, the growth plates on the ends of certain bones will begin to gradually lengthen. After this growth stops, there is no way other than surgery to make them grow again.
This doesn’t mean that exercise won’t help at all though. If you are still in puberty then regular exercise and doing certain stretches can help to make you taller because it releases growth hormones to increase height. Even after puberty, exercise can be helpful by aiding in building muscle. Having more muscle will make you look leaner and thinner which will also make you look longer and taller.
What you eat also plays a big and important role in making yourself get taller than you are. Foods that are high in nutrients such as calcium, protein, and essential amino acids provide what your body needs to grow when you’re young and also keep your bones strong and healthy as you get older which will prevent weak or shrinking bones in the future.
You can also use the way you dress to make yourself look taller. Wearing matching black or dark outfits can result in making you look slimmer and taller. In contract, wearing dark pants with white shirts will draw attention to your middle and make you look shorter and stouter. Along the same lines, short fair will make your neck appear longer, while longer hair results in the neck appearing shorter. Obviously shoes can increase your height as well. Shoes with a heel, like boots or sandals, can make you look taller. Shoes like boots, clogs, or tennis shoes will make your feet look bigger, which is another thing that results in you looking taller.
